Hey all out there, long time no post. Thought I'd check in on the world of AO and I've quickly come to find out it has changed quite a bit... I did manage to test out V3, and it's looking pretty awesome. Then I somehow found myself back in the familiar setting of V2... I even joined an open game! So... what's the good word? Any Mobs still around? I found one of you all in V2, but I'm not even sure if that is a recent game or what... banana

Welcome back sir... :partyyy:

I'm assuming you found Trantor... unfortunately he's the only Mob you'll find :(

Very few ancients still around... good to see one return! :gott:

good to be back, now if only I could get the new online V3 up and running... :hilfe:

With any luck I will figure out what's keeping it from properly loading soon, I see there is a tourney coming up in May? I need to start training then! :klugscheisser:

Anyway, it's good to see some familiar names still around!

(and if anyone is up for a throwback to V2 the game I joined is still in turn 1... it's a long haul though... so there is plenty of time to join, about 9 days left for this turn I think... :o )

If you're having trouble running V3 Online, you might try uninstalling Java then running the game. For whatever odd reason, I can't have Java installed if I want to open the game. The problem even followed me after reinstalling OS.

A few of the old players are still about, although their numbers have been reduced over time. I think they are playing less hours but still hang around for some reason . :headbash:

If you haven't noticed AoC IV is due to be released in later this year.

Don't know if I'm an oldtimer or not but I left for a while (was still registered ) and came back. I'm having resolution issues when I use my phone so once again I'm not playing. I'm sure that will resolve eventually and then I'll play again (Chris and I worked on it but I'm too busy to continue the debugging process.. that's what I get for being so geeky )

Hmm, I would define "old timer" as a player who played Age of Conquest (AoC) back when it was called: Aevum Obscurum (AO). Gosh, I'm showing my age. :o

I was always a fan of the Latin... :???:

But I understand the name change, much easier to search for in the Google box... lol :p

Yes, I thought the Latin was cool too but I must confess, Age of Conquest is much easier to spell/find on the web. In addition, people can relate to it more easily. I would get these blank expressions from people when I told them I played Aevum Obscurum. It was like I was speaking Latin or something.
