We have a small dilemma in the final round of the 4vs league. We have a few players who have gone missing.

Not sure how realRiff would want us to handle this since he is not round as well. Here is what noblemaster and myself decided on. We can proceed in one of two ways. This is being announced for those player who are still active to comment on.

First option (1): is to allow those team that are missing players to make substitutions. Any player who is brought in as a substitute still needs to meet the league's requirement for joining as outlined in the rules. The replacement player can not be someone who has already played in the League on another team.

I know the remaining team may wish to comment on this. It has already been expressed to me by one or more of the teams, that they would like to be able to veto any substitute player that they feel is a ringer or their rating to way higher than the person they are replacing. Doing this might make it difficult to fill the inactive spots but let's hear what the 2 remaining teams have to say.

Addition limitation for selecting a substitute may suggested at this time.

In addition, those players who are inactive and are replaced, will not be eligible to receive any prize or award. Instead, the prize and award will go to the player who filled in for the inactive player.

Option (2A) is this: No substitutions. The teams play as is and the League goes on as if it was a team tournament game.

Option (2B) is this: No substitutions. However, the team that has the most active players on it. May elect to reduce their team size to match the other team so that the competition is balanced. The player or players who have been elected to step down to balance the match up, will still be award the prize but not the award (medal) that their team finishes with. This option must be agreed upon by all active players from both teams. If anyone does not wish to see this option then we will proceed with either option 2A or option 1.

Additional comments and suggestions are welcomed at this time.

As of today, here is how the teams look:
Team 2:
    MikeSA - active (team leader)
    KingDew - active
    Karlas - active
    Huelin - active
vs
Team 3:
GoBuckeyes - INACTIVE for a long time (team leader)
    Bperuti - active
    Zurbina - active, no reply
theshypester - INACTIVE, no reply, last on 6/29

Thanks for outlining this Fodder.

Firstly, in my opinion, 2B and in some respects 2A, do not meet the whole points of a 4x4 tournament as one or more teams will not by 4 players strong.

I therefore vote for option 1 - though I agree that any substituted player should not be rated higher (or much higher) than the player they are replacing.

Although this is a failing of "the team" to supply the 4 players they were told to check would complete the tournament, I would like to see out the fight rather than win by default.

I agree with Howie in that it may be hard or next to impossible to find players to substitute. We might have to go with option 2A by default. If I recall, the 4vs4 League did not fill up as realRiff had expected. Although, I do recall one and maybe two players from the wait list who did not get to join. I don't know if they are still around or not but I could look into it. Before I do, let's hear from the rest of the players in the 4vs4 league. Most importantly from the players on team 3 who are lacking players. Hopefully we can find a solution that everyone is good with.

I for the first version.
I am ready to offer himself as a substitute.
My rating at the moment of start of 4 vs 4 was very small.
And it seems to me that MikeSa will not be against my candidacy.
I'll make him play with full dedication.

However I do not know all the conditions.
Maybe are there any restrictions?

Perhaps, there are already candidates better than me.

And maybe, who believes that he can lose in this case such an important game?

Though, it seems to me, a hell of a pleasure to win in the final of the strong opponent.

I am happy with any option, but it would be a shame to play with only 2 opponents.

At the end of it I'll agree with Mike.

Of course Howard shouldn't be allowed to play though banana

No worries... my work schedule doesn't allow me to play games with a 1 day turn duration :partyyy:

I'd rather it not be Petraa76 because be has used bully, harassing and abusive language and actions towards me, but I'm not the organiser.

Can we get this started please, Fodder?

Well, we have a new volunteer but from another topic it sounds like he doesn't have access to the League realm.

I would like to get it started but we have not heard from the other team. Therefore, if I was to start it. It would be the option where the team size will be lopsided (uneven), not competitive and not the option your team voted for. So are you changing your vote so the league can be started? All members on both team have had plenty of time to read and reply to the forum posting, in addition to having been sent a PM to come here to address this issue. So I have no problem with you changing your vote so the 4v4 league can be started, since everyone has been notified and given plenty of time to respond. Otherwise, I guess we wait until both teams are full? What say you (MikeSA) and your team?

MikeSa not be afraid of me. I will not do anything to write!
I just help your opponents win.
The victory of the nicer, when the opponent is strong, not weak!

i agree with petraa... victory would be much sweeter if the opposing team had 4 active members. there doesn't appear to be a lot of volunteers to fill in, and well... even if petraa plays, isn't team 3 still short 1 player? perhaps another pm to bperuti and/or zurbina is in order? :???:

I can invite Ckayt...
The other option...Let's wait another month. Time enough. Players return.
And it will be a good the final...after a month.
