I doubt it m8 it's fine, however I doubt we can play fair matches, as it's hard to find 5 DDL nowadays
We can bring:
TL
Hwiccee
Wart?

Yep, Biohazard spoke to me the other day about it. Also why I said not everyone wants to keep working with the same people all the time, myself included.

That is how he managed to pull it off, as no one wants to be stuck in some alliance set and most of the people are going onto weekly games except for the odd 24.

thats it Stig just for clan games really so we know the guys we are with there strenghs and weaknesses and can surport each other better

apart from Songdragon who was picked by Xcal

i personally handpicked this bunch as i have always had a good alliance with them and my time with them honourable

our activity as died in the last month but with time and a recomended weekly only rest period on the cards i'm sure we'll be fighting fit soon

(that reminds me, need see blacksmith for a new shield with the coat of arms on)

DDL doesn't really exist as a clan anymore. I play more with the guys on this list than anyone in DDL anymore. Occasionally I run into Stig or Hwiccee, but that's about it. However when I see the guys on this list (except for SongDragon) it's almost the same thing, as we generally know each others' styles and treat each other cordially. Which isn't to say we never fight, just that we're gentlemanly about it. There's a couple others you could add to that list, like alopezme for one.

I guess my point is that the whole clan mentality has pretty much died out. It helped us as we were learning the game, but now that we know the game and know the other experienced players, it's pretty meaningless. I think the only purpose clans can serve at this point is to help train new players and teach them the ins and outs of the game. Unfortunately none of the clans are doing any active recruiting of new players.

We tried recently with Helm, but it didn't work because people saw he was DDL and just assumed he must be an experienced player. In hindsight, we should have put him through some training games before letting him join open games with high-ranked players in them, but he's not exactly the kind of guy who takes direction well either.

Ah well, that's my somewhat disjointed pre-coffee two cents worth. I wouldn't mind seeing a new clan pop up if their purpose was to recruit and train new players. It's a worthwhile venture but it is somewhat time-consuming and it's hard to go through training games and not go all-out for victory but instead focus on helping the n00bs out.

Actually, that sounds like a good idea, TL.

I would be tempted to set up a n00b's clan, but I will wait till the Clan Management system kicks in first.

Aye we DDL are death. TL is right about helping n00bs tho. When I started playing Mab tended to attack me in the games ... making peace before I got killed and being secure in his lands. He kinda did this till I was better (and therefore he couldn't win anymore).
Problem for us is that we've ran out of new players. Helm is just another old goat, but he simply never played AO. There aren't much new members at the Pond, maybe 1 a week, 1 every 2 weeks. But they come there from totalwar.com, they don't join for AO, once in a while someone tries it (like Igaworker) but they don't stick to it.

My bet is that next year, we will be as low ranked as the other clans. When I started playin 1300 points was high, now you're a n00b with it

You're a French Clan member aren't you Alp?

Or as Chul said you might be able to form a clan with some Spanish players, the more clans the better.

If it really is a problem to get a forum I can always make you a usergroup and give you one sub forum here, but that's just for now, since we only have 1 or 2 clans that need it

I dont want to setup a a forum to create a clan. And in any case this forum can manage it as Stig said.
An hispano clan would be nice.
