I just uploaded a bugfix for the AOC server. It appears the SMTP mailer that was sending out notifications stopped working. Some certificate problem. Not so sure why it would suddenly stop working?

Anyhow, things should work again. If you were not getting any game start/game turn notifications in your email inbox it should work now. Also, license codes for the single player version purchases stopped being sent out (ohoh)! I think the problem started about 2 weeks ago.

Anyhow, if you have game start/game turn notifications set and you still don't get them, let me know and I'll look into it again. Sorry for the inconvenience!

:ops:

My options:
1) Notify Noblemaster (done)
2) Upgrade JAVA (not done)
3) Disable JAVA (not done)
4) Try downloading AoC manually (not done)
5) Download fix from Noble Master Games LLC (not done)

What is my next best option to try?

try 7) go into the Java control panel and disable caching! Also clear the caches if you can. That should work!?

Option 7 worked, clearing and disabling the JAVA cache. Thanks! :gott:
As to option 6, no thanks. I prefer to make the world a better place by avoiding that option. :mg:

Your ISP probably updated the SSL certificates. If you're using secure SMTP for sending email, then it will refuse to do so if the certificate has changed, until you update the cert on your end.

Yeah, indeed, my bugfix attempt didn't work and I ended up installing new certificates for the SMTP mailer!

You should be my server admin :kg:
