I currently have high speed cable internet. I'll be relocating in the near future and hence getting a new service provider. I'm considering getting a slower internet connection. I was wondering how slow can I go before playing AoC becomes undesirable. Any opinions and comments are welcomed. Thanks.

I played on dial-up about 99% of the time when I had active games. So pretty much anything will do.

Basic DSL should work just fine. The game shouldn't need much in the way of bandwidth. And since downloading maps is speed throttled anyway, you won't notice anything being slow.

Dial-up is fine! The chat might display someone as offline (I set the timeout for display too low), however you will still get all messages. Need to increase the timeout I guess.

My phone lines were very good and I was even dialing long distance a state away for free dial up service! banana

I usually connected at 45.2 KBps to 52 KBps. I don't miss it though... and you would notice longer delays but it's not terrible.
